About the Company :
Chennai International Airport located amidst the city. It is well connected by metro, suburban rail network and bus transport. It is the fourth busiest airport after Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The airport managed by AAI is set for privatisation and many attempts have been made in recent years.
Chennai airport will be charging Rs 69 per passenger as user development fee (UDF) from May 1, 2018. Earlier the airport was charging Rs 166 for domestic passengers and Rs 667 for international passengers.
In May 2018, Airport Authority of India has awarded a contract to L&T for the modernization of Chennai Airport, Phase-II. This brown field project is to be completed in two phases within stringent time lines and involves the construction of 2.1 Million Sq. ft. of passenger terminal building including basement, finishing works, electro-mechanical works and airport Systems.
