Adani Group is planning to develop a greenfield airport in Dhamra in Bhadrak district of Odisha. The airport at Jharsuguda will be capable of handling Airbus 320s. The ones at Dhamra and Jeypore will be smaller ones.
Under the coastal corridor project — part of the bigger Bharatmala project — the plan is to connect Gopalpur in Odisha to Digha in West Bengal, giving direct connectivity from Paradip to Dhamra along the coast. This will help in cutting down the roundabout route by 120 km. As of July 2017, the company is in the process of land acquisition and likes to get the airport operational by 4 years
Dhamra is in Bhadrak district not in jharsuguda district. Please rectify the content.
