Noida International Airport Ltd is setting up the Noida airport on a build, operate and transfer basis. In October 2020, through its special vehicle YIAPL signed a CA with NIAL, the concession authority. The concession tenor is 40 years with an extension provision for 30 years. YIAPL is required to develop the airport in four phases with capacity starting from 12 million passengers in Phase I to 70 million passengers in Phase IV. The airport will be located in Jewar, Gautam Bhud Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. The estimated project cost of Phase I is INR57.30 billion, to be funded in a debt: equity ratio of 65:35.
The land requirement is 1,334 hectares for all the four phases. The connectivity to the airport is primarily through the Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida and Agra. Future developments such as an expressway between Khurja and Palwal, the extension of metro in Greater Noida up to NIA, any station at NIA in the envisaged high-speed rail connection between Delhi and Varanasi will add to the connectivity of the airport.
