About the Company :

Air Asia is a Joint Venture between AirAsia India Investment Ltd.(AAIL), Tata Sons Limited (TSL) and Telestra Trade place Private Limited (Telestra). It is a low cost Indo Malaysian airlines and is the first airline to set up a subsidiary in India. It also marks the return of Tata, the one who started airline operations in India.

In August 2015, promoters of AirAsia India have pumped in close to Rs 1000 million equity into the company and increased its authorised share capital by more than three times in the past few months, according to reports .

In November 2016, AirAsia Berhad of Malaysia has pumped in additional funds worth Rs 115 crore in AirAsia India.

In August 2017, the company has added one more Airbus A320 plane in its fleet, taking the total number of aircraft to 12, and also announced the launch of services on Jaipur-Hyderabad route .from next month.

In December 2019, its promoters have infused ₹ 466 crore into the carrier to fund its aggressive expansion plans. While Tata Sons put in ₹ 237.8 crore into the budget carrier, AirAsia Investment has injected ₹ 228.4 crore

In September 2020, the airport has commissioned a 10,000 square feet warehouse, which will be operated by Cargo Service Center (CSC), the on-airport public bonded warehouse would be under the jurisdiction of the City Commissionerate, Bengaluru Customs.
