About the Company :
Akola Airport began commercial operations from the year 2008. The airport has potential to thrive but due to non-availability of land for development works, the mandatory requirement of 300m basic strip cannot be fulfilled. AAI requested the state to give 174.67 acre for extension of runway to 1800m, provision of basic strip of 300m width and other facilities free of cost and encumbrances. It is non-operational now.
