Ministry of Civil Aviation is considering to provide subsidy for heliports which will provide improved connectivity and promote tourism. It has approved flights from 6 heliports – Kangnidhar in Mandi, Manali, Baddi in Solan, Sarahan and Rampur in Shimla under UDAAN-2
It will also provide assistance in form of gap funding for construction of heliports and Pawan Hans has been asked to prepare detailed feasibility report. Apart from these 5 new heliports, operation will also start from Gaggal airport.
